Improving the physical and virtual connectivity between - and to - the two cities is a priority area which is seen by both private and public sectors as key to unlocking the potential for step change in economic growth.

During a period of economic downturn, it is essential to attract more people to Scotland to live, work, invest, visit and study. Glasgow and Edinburgh are Scotland's international gateways and are principal centres of business, learning and culture. For these reasons, Glasgow and Edinburgh have a vital role to play in supporting national and cities' efforts to attract talent, trade and tourism.
