Cities Development
GECI has an important policy influencing role in making the case for investment in cities and establishing at a national level, the role and importance of cities as generators of sustainable economic growth.
GECI's activities include:
- Working across the six Scottish cities to support the evolution of Government policy on cities;
- Championing improvements to the infrastructure of Scotland's cities and supporting the development of innovative investment finance models as a means of funding infrastructure.
- Working towards best practice models for sustainable urban development, in pursuit of the government's push towards low carbon economy;
