During a period of economic downturn, it is essential to attract more people to Scotland to live, work, invest, visit and study. Glasgow and Edinburgh are Scotland's international gateways and are principal centres of business, learning and culture. For these reasons, Glasgow and Edinburgh have a vital role to play in supporting national and cities' efforts to attract talent, trade and tourism.
GECI will intervene in the following areas;
- by enhancing our international profile, GECI can compete more effectively with international top performing cities
- seek to maximise inward investment opportunities for both cities
- facilitate discussions with Higher Education on talent attraction and retention
