• The Collaboration delivered a joint Lord Provost-led event that explored the potential for collaboration between all the universities in the two cities to attract and retain talent 
• GECI delivered a pilot project promoting the cities together to international postgraduate students as places to live, work, study and invest. The project, with Napier and Strathclyde Universities, brought together employers from both cities and the Universities, Business gateway and the Scottish Executive Fresh Talent initiative and is widely seen as a model of good practice
• GECI demonstrated a strong two-city proposition for international investors and developers through a joint promotion at MIPIM 2009, the world's largest property Conference

• GECI hosted a successful study visit from collaborating Swedish cities of Linköping and Norrköping
• The Initiative strengthened the information base for investment by commissioning BAK Basel benchmarking research into Glasgow and Edinnburgh's city regions economic assets
