These new tours come as the latest edition of the popular Lonely Planet Great Britain travel guide heaps more praise on Scotland’s biggest cities, saying: describing Glasgow as “alive and kicking with a significant cultural contribution to make” and “one of the UK’s premier shopping destinations”. Edinburgh is described as “one of the most sophisticated cities in the world” and the Royal Mile as “one of the world’s most romantic streets”.
The Lonely Planet’s warm words follow top ratings for Glasgow and Edinburgh from Conde Nast Traveller and Guardian Travel readers in 2006. Read more…
