Consultancy opportunity
Glasgow c£50k + Brussels living/office/travel expenses.
The Glasgow-Edinburgh collaboration project, in partnership with the Clyde Valley Community Planning Partnership, and Strathclyde Passenger Transport recognise the need to increase their impact in influencing European urban policy, and their participation in trans-national projects of relevance to Central Scotland.
On behalf of these partnerships, Glasgow City Council proposes to appoint a consultant, to be based in Brussels and Glasgow, to provide a range of services, including:
* liaising with the institutions and members of the European Union on policies and legislation of relevance to the above partnerships
* building the international profile of the Glasgow and Edinburgh metropolitan regions in Brussels
* identifying future European funding and project opportunities.
You will be expected to demonstrate extensive experience of working with European institutions combined with an in-depth knowledge of the development issues facing the Glasgow and Edinburgh metropolitan regions. The appointment will be on the basis of a one-year contract, renewable subject to performance against an agreed set of targets.
