The idea of using a maglev (magnetic levitation) train to connect Glasgow and Edinburgh in just a few minutes (with an onward connection to London) is explored in this article by Ken Symon. With Scotland’s largest political parties, Network Rail and the Scottish Executive’s transport agency, Transport Scotland, all committed to further enhancement of rail links between our two largest cities, the key question is perhaps more “how”?
